There’s plenty to look forward to from me because I’m going around Scotland performing my one man show in school libraries, libraries, and anywhere that will have me.  Places include Portobello HS, East Renfrewshire, my forthcoming book launch, and stuff for Book Week Scotland. Hurrah!

My third novel of fab YA fiction is tentatively scheduled for October 2015.  It’s called NORTH OF PORTER.

I’m booked for Aye Write’s little brother Wee Write, which is kid lit/YA segment of the festival.  I’ll be in Glasgow for two days.  Hurrah!  Tuesday 3 March and Wednesday 4 March, 10 – 11am and 1 – 2pm and I can’t wait. The lineup is AMAZING. But what will I wear? My fake fur coat maybe?

January 3rd, 2014

Conjuring The Infinite has been longlisted for a Catalyst Book Award, which is North Lanarkshire Council’s YA annual book awards.  Great news!  Now I’ve got to strap on my boxing gloves and punch the competition out of the way.  And my competition is fierce!  So many brilliant, talented writers have had their books longlisted.  It’s an honour to be ranked alongside them.

July 23rd, 2013

I am officially registered into the Live Literature database alongside other authors in Scotland.  This is a BIG deal.  The Scottish Book Trust fund a lot of live events for writers and performers.  They do a lot of good work.  Now I can be part of that work.  Hurrah!  I’ll have to go shopping for winter gear – I don’t want to look like a tramp at these events.

More live dates have also been added to my schedule.  Check EVENTS for details.

July 5th, 2013

The Tidelines Book Festival website is up and running.  I’ll on a roster with the likes of Christopher Brookmyre, Des Dillon (one of my big influences), Roddy Woomble (he of Idlewild but an amazing folk singer away from his band), Lari Don, Cathy Cassidy, Chae Strathie and many more.

Click HERE to see the events.

May 8th, 2013

Details of a forthcoming tour will be announced very shortly.  It’s going to take me to libraries, bookshops, schools and theatres.  After Irritable Vowel Syndrome, I’ll be appearing at Waterstones for my launch, then the live dates will be put out there and with luck you’ll be able to come and see me.

January 17, 2013

I’m appearing at Cumbernauld Theatre on 11th May 2013 for Irritable Vowel Syndrome – a wee show about books and growing up with books.  Expect torrid true tales about witches, shoplifting, time travel, haunted castles and the boy who read books.  PS Irritable Vowel Syndrome will act as a second launch night for Conjuring The Infinite and all tickets purchased will come complete with a copy of my debut novel.

December 19, 2012

It’s official – Conjuring The Infinite will be available to buy from all good bookshops and online retailers on March 21, 2013.  You can pre-order:

September 14, 2012

The first meeting of the new Cumbernauld Theatre writing group is 27th September.  We are officially called Write In The Theatre.  Cottage Theatre was suggested but that sounds too much like ‘cottaging’ and I am not having that as our name!  When asked what ‘cottaging’ actually meant…I was astonished to realise that I didn’t actually know, so I asked someone at the bar.

September 13, 2012

Conjuring The Infinite will be available in all bookshops and online retailers March 2013.  There will be three launch events to kick things off and then the eyes of the sky will open…

August 30, 2012

Strident Publishing have bought the rights to Conjuring The Infinite.  A release date will be announced shortly.  The book will be available to buy in all good bookshops (the ones still open that is!) and online.  It will be available as a paperback and digital download.  Strident is an extremely cool publishing house boasting award winning authors and some bestsellers too.  So I’m in very good company.  Hurrah!

August 28, 2012

I’ve been confirmed to appear at the Encounters literary and culture festival.  Click HERE for more details.

July 19, 2012

I’ve been invited to participate in a new writing group courtesy of Cumbernauld Theatre.  I’ll update you as soon as I’m back from the meeting.  I’ll be there tomorrow thrashing out terms and conditions.  Oh, and drinking lots of tea.

July 14, 2012

I’ve quietly set up a Kirkland Ciccone fan page on Facebook.  Not many people know about it yet as I haven’t started promoting my new site, but if you do know about it…go onto it and click LIKE.  If I’ve sorted my site out right, then it should be to the left of your screen.  Thank you!

May 31, 2012

My website is up and running. I’m working on a special iPad edition and eliminating bugs and problems. I know my site looks squashed in some old versions of Internet Exploder. Don’t worry, it’s being looked at and I’ll try to fix it soon.
